Clarity Upgrades in itdesign Clarity SaaS
- To request an upgrade, open the itdesign Helpdesk and create a Service Request for Clarity.
- To provide all the information we need, name the target version you want to upgrade to and the Clarity system, which should be upgraded..
- The appointment will be confirmed via the service request.
- We will send a link to a booking calendar, where you can choose a desired upgrade date. Please add the ticket number and the name of the environment in “Notes”.
Please open a separate Service Request for each environment, e.g., one for the Test and another one for the Production environment.
Different Clarity stages are upgraded in the following order: Test – Production – other stages, if available
- To start the whole upgrade process, please specify where the upgrade is supposed to be tested on. The chosen test system is refreshed with a copy of the productive data.
- Please plan appropriate time to test the system thoroughly after the upgrade, and verify that your views, workflows, reports, and automations work as expected.
- A careful preparation ensures a fast and smooth upgrade of Production.
- After a successful upgrade of Production, Production is copied to other remaining Clarity stages, if there are any.
- Each upgrade comes with great new features. Please review the release news provided by itdesign or Broadcom.
- Ensure all development work is completed and backed up on any non-productive environment, since it will be refreshed with production data.
- Any remediation and anonymization after a refresh of non-productive systems is the responsibility of the customer.
- It is recommended to have a list of test cases at hand, which cover all important workflows of your Clarity system.
Please run tests on the most important workflows in your Clarity system, and make sure custom jobs, processes, and interfaces are working as expected.
The standard itdesign Clarity SaaS contracts allow one upgrade per year. For an optimal Clarity experience, we recommend upgrading once a year. Broadcom releases Clarity patches in a non-regular routine. Updates to the latest Clarity Patch version may be requested more often.
We provide the latest Clarity release once the first patch has been released by Broadcom.
The expected downtime for any non-productive environment is one day.
The expected downtime for productive systems will be 6h at max.
We regularly summarize the highlights of new releases for you. Here you can also find the link to the official release notes published by the software manufacturer Broadcom.
